1952 Topps #10 Al Rosen Black Back PSA 4 - The Hebrew Hammer on the Rise

The 1952 Topps #10 Al Rosen features Cleveland’s powerful third baseman just before he reached the height of his career. Known as the “Hebrew Hammer,” Rosen had already established himself as a dangerous run producer, leading the American League with 37 home runs as a rookie in 1950 and following it with another 30-homer season in 1951.

Graded PSA VG-EX 4, this example features the Black Back variation and lands at an appealing early #10 position in the 1952 Topps checklist. Rosen’s colorful portrait gives collectors an early card of one of the decade’s premier sluggers, issued just before his greatest individual season.

That season came in 1953, when Rosen dominated the American League with a .336 average, 43 home runs, and 145 RBI, falling just one point shy of the batting title and a Triple Crown. His performance earned him the unanimous American League MVP Award. The 1952 Topps Al Rosen Black Back PSA 4 catches the Hebrew Hammer immediately before his peak—a young Cleveland star on the verge of becoming the best player in the American League.
