1952 Topps #24 Luke Easter PSA 4 - Power That Arrived Late, but Left a Mark

The 1952 Topps #24 Luke Easter features one of the most imposing power hitters of his generation. Easter’s path to the Major Leagues was anything but conventional—his prime years unfolded outside the integrated majors before he finally reached Cleveland in 1949 at age 34. Once there, his tremendous left-handed power quickly became impossible to overlook.

Graded PSA VG-EX 4, this card comes from the final season of Easter’s Major League career. By then, he had already demonstrated what his bat could do at the highest level, including a tremendous 1950 season with 28 home runs and 107 RBI, followed by another 27 homers and 103 RBI in 1951.

Easter’s story extends well beyond his relatively brief Major League record. He starred in the Negro Leagues, became an important figure in Cleveland’s early integration years, and continued crushing home runs for years in the minor leagues after leaving the majors. The 1952 Topps Luke Easter PSA 4 is a card with a deeper story behind it—a portrait of a feared slugger whose baseball legacy was far greater than his four Major League seasons suggest.
