1952 Topps #6 Grady Hatton Black Back PSA 5.5 - The Hot Corner in Cincinnati

The 1952 Topps #6 Grady Hatton features a longtime Cincinnati infielder whose left-handed bat made him a steady presence in the Reds lineup during the postwar years. Hatton had been Cincinnati’s regular third baseman for much of his career, with his best season coming in 1948 when he produced 16 home runs and 77 RBI while patrolling the hot corner.

This example is graded PSA EX+ 5.5 and features the Black Back variation, adding another desirable early-series variation to a complete 1952 Topps run. Sitting at card #6, Hatton appears near the very beginning of the historic 407-card checklist, with the set’s bold artwork and oversized format on full display.

Hatton spent 12 seasons in the Major Leagues, primarily with Cincinnati, before later extending his baseball career as a manager and executive. He eventually returned to the majors as manager of the Houston Astros from 1966 through 1968. The 1952 Topps Grady Hatton Black Back PSA 5.5 is a strong early-number piece from a set filled not only with superstars, but with the players who defined everyday baseball in the era.
