T206 Piedmont Jim Delahanty – Delehanty – Washington PSA 4 – Brotherhood of Baseball's Greatest Family

Issued between 1909 and 1911, the T206 series remains the defining tobacco-era baseball set and one of the most important releases in the history of the hobby. Produced by the American Tobacco Company and distributed through cigarette packs, these colorful lithographs captured the players of baseball's competitive Deadball Era.

Jim Delahanty was one of five baseball-playing brothers from a legendary Cleveland family, carrying a surname that towers above all others in the annals of early baseball. Widely traveled throughout his thirteen-year career — spanning eight major league clubs from the Chicago Orphans to the Detroit Tigers — Delahanty settled in as a dependable second baseman upon joining Washington in 1907, posting a career-high .317 batting average in 1908. He was traded to the Tigers mid-season in 1909, joined the club in time for a pennant run, and batted a remarkable .346 in seven World Series games against Pittsburgh. His best full season came in 1911 with Detroit, where he hit .339 with 94 RBI.

This example features the Piedmont advertising reverse with the distinctive "Delehanty" spelling variation and carries a PSA VG-EX 4 grade, offering strong overall eye appeal for a tobacco card well over a century old. A compelling piece tied to baseball's most storied brother act.
