1909-11 T206 Sweet Caporal George Bell - Follow Through PSA VG-EX 4
T206 Sweet Caporal George Bell – Follow Through PSA 4 – Two Poses of a Brooklyn Stalwart
Originating from the iconic 1909–1911 T206 tobacco card series, the most recognized pre-war baseball release in the hobby. Issued through cigarette packs by the American Tobacco Company, the set documented players from baseball's Deadball Era with rich, colorful lithographic artistry.
George Bell earns the distinction of appearing in the T206 set with two separate action poses — a mark of the set's thoroughness in capturing its subjects from multiple angles. The "Follow Through" pose captures Bell mid-delivery, adding a sense of motion and athleticism to his cardboard presence that the standard portrait poses cannot match. As one of Brooklyn's rotation workhorses, Bell logged significant innings for the Superbas and was valued for the durability and competitive disposition he brought to the mound every time out.
This example features the "Follow Through" pitching pose paired with the Sweet Caporal advertising reverse and carries a PSA VG-EX 4 grade, presenting cleanly with strong overall eye appeal for a tobacco card more than a century old. A fine companion piece to his Piedmont variation and a visually dynamic entry in any T206 collection.
