1952 Topps #14 Bob Elliott PSA EX 5
1952 Topps #14 Bob Elliott PSA 5 - An MVP at the Hot Corner
By the time 1952 Topps #14 Bob Elliott appeared, Elliott had already assembled the résumé of one of baseball’s premier third basemen. After establishing himself in Pittsburgh, he joined the Boston Braves and immediately delivered the finest season of his career, batting .317 with 22 home runs and 113 RBI to earn the 1947 National League MVP Award.
This PSA EX 5 presents Elliott in the bold illustrated style that gives the 1952 Topps set so much of its personality. Sitting at #14 in the checklist, the card depicts an accomplished veteran rather than a player still trying to make his name—a former MVP and seven-time All-Star whose best seasons had already placed him among the era’s most respected infielders.
Elliott finished his 15-year Major League career with 2,061 hits, 170 home runs, and 1,195 RBI, while also helping Boston capture the 1948 National League pennant. His 1952 Topps card adds something different to the set’s early run: a portrait of a proven star whose place in baseball history had already been earned.
