1952 Topps #91 Red Schoendienst PSA EX 5
1952 Topps #91 Red Schoendienst PSA 5 - Redbird Royalty at Second Base
The 1952 Topps #91 Red Schoendienst features one of the enduring faces of St. Louis Cardinals baseball in the heart of his Hall of Fame playing career. A gifted switch-hitter and smooth second baseman, Schoendienst had already become a fixture in the Cardinals infield, helping St. Louis capture the 1946 World Series championship during his second Major League season.
Graded PSA EX 5, this card dates to another excellent year for the Cardinals star. Schoendienst batted .303 in 1952, earned an All-Star selection, and continued building his reputation as one of the National League’s premier second basemen. By this point, “Red” was no emerging prospect—he was firmly established as one of the players who defined the franchise.
Schoendienst would ultimately earn 10 All-Star selections, collect 2,449 hits, and spend 19 seasons in the Major Leagues before extending his Cardinals legacy from the dugout. As manager, he guided St. Louis to the 1967 World Series championship and another pennant in 1968. Inducted into Cooperstown in 1989, his life in baseball spanned more than seven decades. The 1952 Topps Red Schoendienst PSA 5 captures him where his legend was built—wearing Cardinal red and already on his way to becoming a St. Louis institution.
